Journey to Explore Islam >>> Particulars of Islam >>> Introduction |
IntroductionAllah – All Praise to him - has blessed human-beings with numerous blessings such as their minds, their emotions, and their tongues. In addition, Allah created a lot of things - like animals, plants and wind - to serve the human-being and to make his life on earth easier and more joyful.
But - still - the most important blessing from Allah was that of “Guidance”. It is this blessing that enables the human-being to understand his duty and his role in this life: Allah has created him to be his servant and to fully submit to his commands (I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve me) (51:56), because - only then- humans will live and enjoy all other bounties and - only then- they will deserve to successfully pass this life to the hereafter in which they will have the endless happiness.
Islam - the message of guidance - was the same message that was sent to all human-beings from the first day they populated earth until the day of judgment, and it is the same message that was revealed to Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Mohammad - the last messenger- and all other messengers of Allah - Peace be upon them all -. Allah - the most merciful- sent his messengers to guide humans whenever they went astray, to get them back to the true way of life. But the message was perfected to all human beings when it was revealed to prophet Mohammad - Peace be upon him- the last messenger. The message was a complete way of life that contains the rules, which enable humans to have joyful life in this life and the hereafter.
Islam is a set of believes and practices. The believes include: the belief in the oneness of Allah, the only one who deserves worshipping, and in the existence of his angels and to believe - with no discrimination - in his messengers who where sent with the same message, in addition to other basic believes that relate to the heart and mind. On the other hand, practices include; Salah (prayers), Zakah (mandatory charity), Syam (fasting) and other practices that relate to the body. It is the interaction of these believes and practices, that creates a true Muslim, in which his practices are the signs of his belief and at the same time its reinforcement. This is - truly - the human-being that deserves to be the servant of Allah and deserves his paradise.
Building the true muslim is one part of the message of Islam, other parts aim at building the muslim society and defining the relationship between its entities and building the nation from different societies and tribes, the best nation that was created and guided by Allah serving under his religion and fighting evil.
It is worth mentioning here that Islam defines the basic and necessary rules for the Muslim person, society and nation, rules that guide them to good and protect them from evil. It has left other matters to the Muslim who is able to judge in sight of his belief and for the sake of pleasing Allah.
In the following paragraphs, we aim at introducing parts of the Muslims way of life, the way that was accepted by Allah to human-beings that guarantees them success in their life and the hereafter.
