Introduction to Socialization From the previous paragraphs we can realize how Islam pays a lot of attention to the individual being the building block of any nation. But human beings are social by their nature, and they need a society to live with. Islam, being the religion of Fitra, didn’t ignore that. In fact, it emphasizes that a Muslim individual is weak by himself but strong with his group, thus encouraging Muslim individuals to work together on good and help each other avoid evil. If we consider Islam’s rules regarding the society in general we will see that it is so much related with rules related to the individual only, for example, let’s consider the dress. As we say in a previous paragraph there are rules for the dress of a Muslim (man and woman), and such rules have effects that exceeds the personal level to the society, by spreading modesty and preventing the spread of bad desires that might ruin the society. Thus the individual is not any more free to abandon the rules regarding his dress, since he must consider other members of his society, and if he didn’t the society should deal with this as an outlaw that should be stopped. In the following paragraphs we shall study one such example, that will show how Islam’s rules at the personal and group level interact and result in the nation that Allah has granted success. This example is about the relation between sexes in Islam |
